Mission Statement

The Central Europe Forum for Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) is a country-focused, evidence-based, and solution-driven platform dedicated to advancing freedom of religion or belief for all across Central Europe, with particular attention to Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary.

Meeting four times per year in a rotating format, the Forum brings together civil society actors, experts, and policymakers to translate international FoRB standards into measurable improvements on the ground. Through independent assessment, constructive dialogue, and sustained accountability, the Forum seeks to ensure that commitments made at the OSCE, EU, and UN levels are meaningfully implemented at national and local levels.

The Forum operates as a space for honest, informed, and practical engagement, guided by evidence, protected by Chatham House Rules, and oriented toward concrete outcomes rather than consensus for its own sake.
